Sonny Koufax is not your average law school graduate. You would never expect anything from him after receiving $100,000 the year before when he got his foot run over. Sonny is a burden to his friends and to his girlfriend who leaves him for a much older man. All of that changes when he is forced to take care of a seven year old kid.

Julian, a five year old boy from Buffalo New York moved to live with his father Kevin. Kevin is away on business and Sonny is now forced to take care of him.

Layla Maloney, the sister of Kevins (Julians biological father) fiancˆ© is an attorney in New York. Sonny and Julian run into Layla at a park and in a sad attempt Sonny gets the chance to take her out.¬ÝLayla begins to grow a relationship with Julian and eventually ends up with Sonny.
