Welcome to P.E. 1. We have 6 sport/activity units to cover in a semester: soccer, track, basketball, square-dance, self-defense, and volleyball. Each unit is about 3 weeks in length. All activities cover basic skills, rules and strategy for that unit. Each activity has worksheets and tests that apply what we learn in classroom.
Tuesdays is a fitness activity day. We will work on the health related and skill related components of fitness. Physical Fitness testing will be done 2 times during the semester. Students are sure to see improvement in their fitness scores!
Each Thursday will be a classroom day. We use the book, Fitness for Life. You can access activities from the text at :fitnessforlife.org. Assignments will be done in class and at home.
Grading consists of a combination of activity, fitness scores, and classroom work. |
