Sophomore PE options: PE-2, Physical Best, Fit for Life. PE Leaders and Food & Fitness are one semester only.
Welcome to P.E. 2. We have 10 sport/activity units to cover in the year: softball, flag football, soccer, basketball, social-dance, CPR training, floor hockey, bowling*, archery and volleyball. Each unit is about 3 weeks in length. All activities cover basic skills, rules and strategy for that unit. Each activity has worksheets and tests that apply what we learn in classroom and in the gym/field.
Every Tuesday and Thursday are fitness activity days. We will work on the health related and skill related components of fitness. Physical Fitness testing will be done 2 times during each semester. Students are sure to see improvement in their fitness scores!
PE-2 will also have a classroom day. The teacher will determine when the students will be in the classroom. We use the book, Fitness for Life. You can access activities from the text at :fitnessforlife.org. Assignments will be done in class and at home.
Grading consists of a combination of activity, fitness scores, and classroom work.
*Bowling has a fee of $25 to cover transportation and cost to bowl. |
