- What
is it? Color Guard is an activity that uses flags, rifles, sabres,
and other accessories along with dance movement choreographed to the
music of the Marching Sequoits (and contemporary music). Dance experience
is helpful, but not required.
- What
do you do? We perform with the Marching Sequoits at half-time shows
for football games, parades, and competitions throughout Illinois and
Wisconsin.
- When
is the season? April through October (including the entire summer).
- When
are performances? We start the performing season with the Memorial
Day parade in May. The Harvard Milk Day Parade is in June. The Antioch
Fourth of July parade and possible fireworks festivities start the month
of July. The Lindenfest Parade is in late July. We begin halftime shows
in late August through October. We have approximately 3-5 weekend competitions
in September and October. All performances are mandatory. We cannot
fill in a substitute if you cannot attend, so every person is required
to attend.
