Recycling: Is it Necessary?

March 14, 2001-- Survey taken at Antioch Community High School shows the amount of recycling taking place by students at home and school.

People who recycle at school makes up only 20 percent of the students questioned. 47 percent say they do not recycle at school, while 33 percent answered that they do not recycle at all when in school.

Only 47 percent recycle at home, while 20 percent does not 33 percent claims that they sometimes recycle at home. 53 percent say that they know the school has an environmental club, yet none are actively involved.

With the acquired knowledge of the environment 93 percent says people should recycle and six- percent say people should not recycle.

In taking this survey and reviewing the results will help people realize that not many people are taking recycling seriously. Although recycling has many followers, there will always be room for more.
