Mission Statement
Sequoit Pride exists to foster a strong sense of community pride at Antioch Community High School. To accomplish this goal Sequoit Pride will:

• promote involvement in school activities by students, staff, parents and all residents of the ACHS community.

• raise funds to provide support for programs which expand curricular and co-curricular opportunities for our students.

• encourage pride in the Sequoits through the display of school colors in apparel, banners, and other promotional items.

• advise and assist ACHS in promoting two-way communication between the community and the school.

Membership
Any parent/guardian may join by sending in an annual $10 membership fee along with the student registration packet. Parents can also sign up at the Sequoit Pride booth at home football and basketball games or at the monthly meetings.

Activities
The activities hosted by Sequoit Pride are Spirit Wear Sales, Raffle Drawing, Teacher Appreciation, Senior Picnic and the Golf Outing. Currently we have openings and would welcome help from any parent/guardian. For more information, please come to the next meeting to find out more or call Doris Houslander at 847-395-3953.

Are you a golfer? Do you have experience running a golf outing? If so, we need a chairperson to run our golf outing this summer. Please contact Doris as soon as possible if you are interested.

Accomplishments
This year Sequoit Pride donated over $14,000 to many different departments. Our contributions went towards NHS Banner and Podium, Recycling Bins, Psychology Club, Foreign Language Dictionaries, Finesse Magazine, Tools for the Wood Shop Class, Pregnancy Vest, Media Literacy, Ping Pong Tables, Snowball, Enviromental Club, Sports Physical Therapy Muscle Stimulator, Bowling Wrist Guards, Prom, Math Fair, Keyspan Remotes, Speech Team, Visiting Artists, Guest Conductor for the District Band Festival, Principal's Fund, and AED (defibilator).

Meetings
Sequoit Pride usually meets the first Wednesday of each month in the ACHS Library, which is located on the second floor. The meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and take about an hour. The schedule for the 2007 – 2008 school year is:
9/12/07, 10/3/07, 11/7/07, 1/9/08, 2/6/08, 3/5/08, 4/2/08, and 5/7/08.

Spirit Wear
