Rumors
abound in spring play production

| The
two-story interior set piece for Rumors is one of the largest constructed
for an ACHS drama production. |
“Rumors,”
a Neil Simon farce with an ensemble cast of 10 students, opens Thursday
at 7:30 p.m. in the ACHS auditorium. Rather than charging admission to
the production, donations will be accepted. The productions runs through
Saturday.
The plot revolves
around four couples who, upon arriving for a dinner party, find that their
host has been shot dead, and the hostess is nowhere to be found. Director
Donna Shehorn said “Rumors” was selected partly because it
is one of Simon’s most famous.
A
two-story interior set piece represents one of the biggest used for an
ACHS production, according to Shehorn, made possible by the new stage
house and scene shop.
Before the curtain
goes up officially, senior citizens will get a sneak peek at the play
on Wednesday as part of student council’s Sharing Is Caring night.
Dinner and music will precede a dress rehearsal performance for those
in attendance. The annual night out for senior citizens is “our
way of giving to the community,” explained student council sponsor
Susan Shrader.
