Guys and Dolls opens with largest cast on ACHS stage

One thing audience members may note is the number of new faces in the cast. “We’ve never had this many guys audition,” said director Wanda Teddy. She noted that many students recruited from athletics and dance auditioned after being encouraged to give it a shot.
The story takes place in New York, where a couple of gamblers, needing a place to hold a craps game, bet on whether one of them can get a woman to have dinner with him in Hanava, Cuba. The production features 32 musical numbers and “a lot of fun,” according to Teddy.
Dylan Zobel, Heather Bednar, Scott Segel (pictured above), and Lindsay Unick star under the direction of Teddy and stage manager Greg Geddes. Dance team coach Kelly Taylor serves as choreographer, assisted by Miranda Linco.
Performances are at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Reserved seating is $5 for students and senior citizens, $7 for the general public. Seats can be reserved by buying tickets in the main office or calling 847-395-1421, extension 9370.
