Boys’ track started up in 1941, and in 1960 wrestling and boys’ golf were added. The 1970’s saw the introduction of interscholastic girls’ sports and a few additional boys’ teams. In 1983 ACHS joined the North Suburban Conference and added boys’ soccer, followed by girls’ soccer in 1986. Boys’ volleyball was the latest sport to be added in 1996.

Providing halftime entertainment at football and basketball games was the mission when the pom pon squad was formed in 1974. The squad began calling itself the dance team 1997 to reflect an emphasis on modern music and dance. The 1999-2000 season saw the team take first place for their kick routine at the Illinois Drill Team Association state competition, an achievement they repeated in March 2003 and again in February 2007 at the Team Dance Illinois tournament.

A perennial award winner, the Tom Tom was named to the National Scholastic Press Hall of Fame in 2001 for having been rated All-American for 10 consecutive years.

Antioch High School’s yearbook was first published in 1926, and again in 1928 and 1929. Named for the man who developed the Cherokee alphabet, Sequoia has been published annually since 1935, except for a parent-sponsored booklet in 1973 when budget pressures eliminated clubs for a year. In 1997 the book began including a multimedia CD-ROM disk, and also earned its first of three All-American ratings from National Scholastic Press Association. In 2007 the book was named a Pacemaker finalist.
