The Antioch High School Logo

Click to enlargeThe current Antioch High School logo was created in the early 1970s by John O’Hara as an emblem for the football team’s helmets. Other sports teams soon began using the design, and before long the artwork found its way onto all manner of items as a symbol of the school.

The “A” in the center stands for Antioch (naturally) and the circle surrounding it represents unity of the students and athletes who wear the symbol. The arrow always faces forward, symbolizing the need to move ahead and overcome obstacles. Two feathers below the arrow represent teamwork and working together to achieve success.

Originally the logo used three colors: cardinal, black and white. Gray has been added recently to the arrow and feathers to better incorporate the school’s colors. A “three-dimensional” version of the logo is also in use, as are grayscale and line art (black and white) versions.

In print, the logo should always have the arrow pointing forward or toward the center of interest on the page (as shown here). When no focal point is present, or when the logo itself is the dominant image, the arrow can point in either direction. Pantone 201 or similar ink should be used for the red. The logo above with text is available here in GIF or PDF versions.

When used on a dark background, the logo should not merely be inverted. Instead, an outline version of the logo is available here, both in full color and black & white.

Vector art files are available on request for any of these versions of the ACHS logo.

Below are downloadable versions of the logo in several file types and colors combinations. Right-click (Windows) or control-click (Macintosh) to save these files to your computer. Note: all versions of the ACHS logo are copyright © Antioch Community High School
